This new series combines the best features of ‘Landscapes‘ with all the detail you would expect in a hefty general guide, but they are all pocket size (the page size is just 15mm wider than ‘Landscapes‘ books) and in full colour.

This is not an island on which you can rely on public transport - you need a car to get around. Hiring a car is the best way of exploring the island (and reaching the walks described in the book). At any time of year you can hire a car locally when you arrive. But to save money, hire through your travel agent when booking your holiday or book in advance on the internet — even the day before you travel. If you would like to explore the island’s back roads or cover some of the walking routes by car, the author advises hiring a four-wheel drive vehicle. (But 4WD vehicles are not necessary for reaching the starting points of the walks).
